Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Lagos State University (LASU) have organised a medical outreach for the residents of the area and environs at the Council Secretariat.
Speaking at the one-day free medical screening, Mr. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman Eredo LCDA, stated that the initiative was part of his administration’s effort to ensure the well being and welfare of the community’s inhabitants.
Akinloye, represented by his Vice Chairman, Mr. Lateef Adesanya, explained that the outreach would entail an enlightenment campaign on the prevention and care as well as free medical tests for Prostate Cancer, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, HIV, Hepatitis B, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose check and Eye Test among others.
The Chairman appealed to the constituents of the LCDA to take advantage of the free medical test and comply with all directives given by the medical team for their good health and well being.
The Director, Directorate of Advancement in LASU and leader of the Medical team, Prof. Adeyinka Okubena Dipeolu said the essence of the programme was to provide free medical screening for the less privileged in the community to ascertain their health status.
This, he said, will go a long way to ensure residents of the community are in good health to indulge in their daily activities and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the society.
The beneficiaries of the free medical outreach were full of praise for the Chairman of Eredo LCDA and LASU for the opportunity to receive free health consultations and tests.
