As part of the association’s vision for Leadership, Grassroots Impact and Advocacy, the New Badagry-Forum (NBF), a convergence of responsive youths in Badagry community have concluded plans to train youths in digital training tagged “BADAGRY DIGITAL INDEPENDENCE PROJECT”

This was part of the decision reached deliberated at an extraordinary meeting of the forum held at FAMS Embassy Suites on Friday.
The Forum Chairman, Prince Olu Kosoko said
“NBF intends to train 30 youths on Digital training FREE OF CHARGE and it will be launched on the 1st October at Dooke’s Innovation Centre by 10am to commensurate Nigeria 60th Independence.”

Ms Boluwaji Akinlade, a member of the forum further explained that the training will last for 3 weeks for youths between the ages of 15 years to 30 years, who will have to register online through the website for New Badagry Forum to be released soon.
“We propose 3weeks intensive training programme will equip the beneficiaries with high end digital and programming skills for developing creative animations, games and solutions in a stimulating and exciting environment.” She added

Mr. David Opeyemi Oke, a member of the forum, Executive Director, Dooke Innovation Centre and digital training expert said the project will serve as platform to stimulate the interest and passion of these teenagers and youths in the emerging STEM-based and ICT-driven economy.

Oke expressed that the top 10 participants, which will be measured by their commitment during the training period, will be given the opportunity to intern for 3-months in reputable organisations.

The Head Of Admin & Operations NBF, Mrs. Damilola James in her closing remarks appreciate everyone present and all those who contributed to the Badagry Child Video Project in commemoration of the 2020 Children Day.
The New Badagry Forum comprises youth entrepreneurs, corporate business owners, Chief Executives, publishers, legal practitioners as well as other outstanding and well informed individuals who are Badagrians.

The purpose of the forum according to the Chairman is to have a new Badagry with a paradigm shift from the conventional approach to issues, tapping into both local and international opportunities, building human capital and promoting the image of Badagry through appropriate branding.

Basit Senapon (Lecturer & Proprietor), Timothy Oke Esq. (Secretary, BOT NBF).
